COMPOSITION

Each mL contains:

• Procaine Penicillin G …………………………… 100,000 IU

• Benzathine Penicillin G ……………………… 100,000 IU

• Dihydrostreptomycin Sulphate …………… 200 mg

• Excipients ………………………………………… q.s. to 1 mL

PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASS

Combined beta-lactam antibiotic (penicillins) and aminoglycoside antibiotic.

INDICATIONS

PEN-NOR® DS is indicated for the treatment of mixed bacterial infections caused by penicillin- and streptomycin-sensitive organisms, including:

• Respiratory tract infections

• Mastitis

• Metritis

• Septicemia

• Wound and soft tissue infections

• Foot rot

• Arthritis

• Umbilical infections

in cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, and camels, as advised by a veterinarian.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

For deep intramuscular injection only.

• Cattle, camels:
  1 mL per 20–25 kg body weight

• Sheep, goats, pigs:
  1 mL per 15–20 kg body weight

Repeat after 24 hours if necessary.
Duration of treatment: 1–3 days, depending on severity and veterinary advice.

⚠️ Do not inject more than 10–15 mL per site in large animals.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

• Hypersensitivity to penicillins, aminoglycosides, or beta-lactam antibiotics

• Do not use in animals with known renal impairment

• Not recommended for horses

• Do not administer intravenously

ADVERSE REACTIONS

• Local reactions such as pain or swelling at the injection site

• Rare allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis

• Prolonged use may cause nephrotoxicity or ototoxicity (aminoglycosides)

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD

• Meat: 21 days

• Milk: 7 days

(Withdrawal periods may vary according to national regulations.)

PRECAUTIONS & WARNINGS

• Shake well before use

• Use strict aseptic techniques

• Avoid prolonged or repeated use without veterinary supervision

• Observe recommended withdrawal periods to avoid residues

• Antimicrobial resistance may develop with improper use

• Store below 25°C

• Protect from light

• Do not freeze

• Keep container tightly closed

• Keep out of reach of children
